The BMS Systems & Integration Engineer is expected to compile customer requirements for High Voltage and/or Low Voltage Battery Pack Battery Management Systems (BMS); translate these requirements into system schematics and requirements specifications; drive these requirements into the design organization; and follow programs through the BMS validation and customer installation/integration stages.


  • Act as the primary BMS interface to both internal and external customers.
  • Collect customer requirements, evaluate compliance, and note areas of non-conformance and/or opportunities for requirement modification based on experience
  • Develop BMS System Specifications according to agreed-upon customer requirements
  • Create Electrical Interface and Control Documents
  • Create and manage BMS System DVP&R
  • Support customer system integration efforts through appropriate means such as conference calls, data log analysis, and travel to customer sites
  • Coordinate activities of electrical hardware and software teams to resolve BMS issues
  • Develop and maintain realistic project milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Track and report project status
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope
  • Ensure team follows established development processes
  • Contribute to process improvement activities
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management


  • BSEE and 5+ years of automotive electrical system experience
  • Solid trouble-shooting skills; Shainin problem solving experience a plus
  • Solid working knowledge of CAN and/or LIN Networking
  • Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to react to project to adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, including customer interface, skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an occasionally high-pressure environment
  • Experience with Electric Vehicles and/or high voltage systems a plus
  • Experience with UDS and OBD Diagnostics a plus
  • Tier 1 supplier experience a plus
  • Fast-paced development environment
  • Some travel required
