Overview

The Systems Lead Engineer serves as the customer interface for the system design, coordinates the tasks of the supporting Systems Engineers, and performs the tasks of a Systems Engineer. The systems design tasks include analyzing customer or core product requirements and developing system design solutions to be further implemented by Hardware, Software, and Mechanical engineers.
 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the customer interface for the system design
  • Coordinate the tasks of supporting Systems Engineers
  • Collect and manage customer requirements for negotiation and compliance traceability
  • Identify and propose requirement changes to customers according to the capability of A123 designs
  • Develop system architecture and behavioral design solutions according to agreed-upon customer requirements
  • Review and approve system test cases to ensure system design coverage
  • Analyze internal test failures to determine root cause and mitigation action
  • Re-create customer reported issues to determine root cause and mitigation action
  • Follow the A123 development process and tool chain implementation to support the development quality goals

Qualifications

  • BSEE/BSEE and 8+ years of automotive design/release/supervisory experience
  • Experience with Electric Vehicles and/or low voltage / high voltage batteries a plus
  • Working knowledge of CAE tools such as Vector CANAlyzer and MatLab/Simulink
  • Ability to react to project adjustments promptly and efficiently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an occasionally high-pressure environment
  • Tier 1 supplier experience a plus

 Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, exciting development environment
  • Some travel required
