Overview

The position reports to the Plant Manager. The primary focus is working on improving equipment availability, creating Preventative Maintenance plans and handling day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of the Maintenance Technicians and ensure excellent housekeeping and organization
  • Build a team of technicians and create a disciplined mindset focused on safety, the customer, urgency, excellent workmanship and results
  • Lead, train and develop the team of technicians
  • Create a culture of trust, respect, teamwork, caring, learning and continuous improvement within the team
  • Manage the people related processes to support the team
  • Manage effective responses to breakdowns, and ensure effective preventative action is taken
  • Manage the execution of the PM program
  • Manage the maintenance work order system
  • Coordinate the scheduling and execution of planned maintenance outages
  • Schedule and coordinate the activities of the technicians
  • In consultation with the Manufacturing and Controls Engineers, execute retrofits and improvements
  • Manage contract services related to maintenance

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five years of experience in maintenance-related roles in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing people
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
