Overview

The Application Engineering position supports the sales, project management and product development teams acting as the primary point of contact for all customer technical questions and concerns. He or she is responsible for leading the technical team in the development of the product to production.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales design in activities. Work with sales team and customer to identify appropriate solution to customer requirements
  • On-site customer support for integration and troubleshooting of energy storage systems and interconnected components
  • Support program management in post sourcing program reviews of hardware, software and systems
  • Grow and maintain customer trust by maintaining best in class customer service
  • Support preparation for all management reviews
  • Support technical reviews with product development team and customer
  • Perform risk analysis on issues in the development of the product
  • Provide input on next generation product requirements
  • Ensure product requirements are driven into the design as a system

Qualifications

  • Solid problem solving and trouble-shooting skills and experience a plus
  • Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Flexibility during times of change.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal, including customer interface skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an occasionally high-pressure environment
  • Experienced with Lithium Ion batteries
  • Demonstrated ability to work with electronic, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering concepts
  • Experienced with vehicle communication systems (CAN/LIN)
  • Familiar with electronics, schematic development, ECAD, PWB manufacturing
  • Familiar with mechanical design, MCAD, mechanical durability, thermal properties, mechanical assembly
  • Able to manage cross discipline engineering issue resolution
  • Able to communicate clearly using written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, tasks, and issues simultaneously
  • Knowledge of automotive standards (FMEA, DVP&R, APQP, PPAP)

Education/Experience

  • BSEE/BSET or equivalent engineering degree
  • 5+ years of automotive engineering experience preferred
  • Battery system or hybrid industry experience preferred
