This position will serve as Program Manager for a leading developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries and battery systems for the automotive and commercial markets.


  • Enforce and manage the Program Management/Phase Gate product development process while identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee programs from start to finish for complex technical products.
  • Develop program budgets and timing from cradle to grave (concept to EOP). Instill in program team a strong focus on cost (budget, margin), quality (process), and timing (achieving internal/external milestones).
  • Effectively track, manage, and report on program status, key risks and action plans to internal teams, management and customers.
  • Coordinate action plans amongst cross functional teams; takes lead on issues crossing many organizations.
  • Ensure volume capacity is implemented within Supply Chain and Manufacturing in time for launch.
  • Work with Engineering, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure advanced product quality planning (APQP) execution. \
  • Document and track compliance to technical and commercial requirements along with developing solutions to address any/all identified gaps.
  • Identify and correct systemic issues impairing successful program execution.
  • Support developing , sourcing and managing key suppliers.
  • Drive towards rapid identification and resolution of any and all key performance, cost and timing issues regardless of where the issue originates (customer, engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply base, etc).   


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, electrical engineer or related engineering field.


Special Skills

  • Strong technical background with experience in mechanical components, electrical components and software integration coordination
  • 5 years of experience working with the automotive design process
  • 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams comprised of members from engineering, purchasing, finance, and operations to develop and launch automotive products
  • 5 years of experience developing products with automotive customers
  • 5 years of experience translating customer specifications into a production program that meets technical and financial objectives
  • All experience can be gained concurrently. Unless otherwise indicated, no specific amount of experience in each of these skills is required.
